British school children are the sixth most sleep-deprived in the world. Teenagers are told that sleep is important and that devices late at night aren’t helpful but don’t often know why this is true. This assembly looks at what happens when we sleep and the reasons why it is so important. It looks at the unique way teenagers’ brains work and why their sleep patterns don’t fit the way the world works and finishes by looking at what they can do about it.
